What to Expect in Your First Home Massage Session (A First-Timer's Guide)
If you have never had a massage at home before, it is completely natural to have questions. What do I need to prepare? What happens when the therapist arrives? What if I want to stop?
This guide walks you through a first-time home massage session from beginning to end.
Step 1: Booking and the Pre-Session Conversation
The first step is reaching out — at Senza Aura, this happens over WhatsApp at +91 9400029181 or Telegram at @senzaaura. A simple message is enough: where you are in Bangalore, what kind of session you are interested in, and when you would like to book.
Before confirming, there will be a brief conversation about any health conditions, what you are hoping to get from the session, areas you prefer not to have worked on, and your pressure preference. This is a practical conversation so the session is useful for you.
Step 2: Preparing Your Space
You do not need anything special. The therapist brings everything: a massage table, fresh draping sheets, and oils. You only need a clear space roughly 2 metres by 1 metre — living room or bedroom floor area works perfectly.
Step 3: When the Therapist Arrives
The table is set up in about five minutes. There will be a brief check-in confirming what you discussed. Then the therapist steps out briefly so you can undress to your comfort level and lie down under the draping sheet.
Step 4: The Session Itself
You are covered throughout. Only the area being worked is briefly uncovered, then covered again. For a first home massage, most women choose relaxation-focused work — long, flowing strokes that ease tension from the back, shoulders, neck, and legs.
You do not need to make conversation. Many clients fall asleep. If the pressure is wrong at any point, say so. If you want to stop for any reason, the session ends immediately — no explanation needed.
Step 5: After the Session
The therapist gives you a moment to dress while packing up. You may feel groggy — this is your nervous system coming down from a relaxed state. Take your time sitting up. Drink water. At Senza Aura, there is no push to rebook and no follow-up pressure. The therapist leaves promptly.
A Note for First-Timers
If you are still uncertain, the Intro Comfort Session is a 20-minute first-timer session designed exactly for this. Short, low-pressure, and a genuine way to experience a home session without committing to an hour. Check the FAQ page for more specific questions.
